Sea Turtles: an
Endangered Species |

Mexico Beach stretches for four miles along
the Gulf of Mexico in the Florida Panhandle. Mexico Beach is a small beach
town environment in comparison to its neighbors to the west. Height
restrictions ensure that their will never be construction taller than the
El Governor Motel, a landmark for over 35 years. Rows of shopping and major nightlife are not found here. Locally owned shops and restaurants
are located up and down the seaside Highway 98. One highlight of Mexico
Beach is its public beach access. Stretching for four miles, the beach is
open and free to all. The water is usually calm, and free of undertow
providing for a one of a kind beach experience in Florida’s panhandle
along what has become known as The Forgotten Coast. East of The Emerald
Coast, you are now in the know about The Forgotten Coast. Help keep the
secret!
